Travel Vaccinations
Whetstone Medical Centre offers a limited travel advice and vaccination service. We are only able to provide travel vaccinations that are provided free on the NHS.
Vaccines available on the NHS include: diptheria, tetanus, polio, typhoid, hepatitis A & cholera.
To establish if you need any of these vaccines for travel, a travel questionnaire will need completing and handing in at reception as soon as you’ve booked your holiday to allow enough time for your form to be processed and an appointment arranged.
Private vaccines not available on the NHS include: hepatitis B, Japanese E, meningitis ACWY, rabies, tick born encephalitis, tuberculosis and yellow fever.
To receive any of the above private vaccines, you will need to contact the Liverpool School of Medicine Well Travelled Clinic on 0151 705 3223 or via email on: info@lstmed.ac.uk
You may also wish to to use a local private clinic such as the one based at Claughton Medical Centre:
Claughton Medical Centre The Paxton Building 161 Park Road North Birkenhead Merseyside CH41 0DD
Telephone: 0151 652 1688
Email: patient@intervationaltravelclinics.co.uk
All travel vaccines need to be given 2 weeks prior to travel to be effective.
